LIFE AS PAPER

LIFE AS PAPER began as a hobby – a way for me (Niki) to entertain myself and get more creative than my work crunching numbers as an engineer allowed. While my husband, Gregory, was busy in a whirlwind of full-time work and studying for his MBA, there had to be something I could do – something that would kill some time and let me express myself, too.

By the end of 2011 I was falling back in love with something I had always enjoyed – crafting handmade invitations and paper goodies. Soon I was sharing my creations with the world through Etsy, and getting amazing feedback from happy customers across the States and beyond.

A lot has changed since then: having kids and quitting my job, expanding my business with two new partners who I’ve happened to know since birth (my wonderful sisters Keller and Caroline), moving houses, and launching a brand-new website. Creating high-quality invitations and paper goodies makes us happy, and that’s reflected in our products! It’s a blessing to do what we love, while being at home with the people closest to our heart.

Welcome to LIFE AS PAPER – enjoy browsing, and drop us a line if you have any questions!

Niki Hopkins

Hello there! I’m Niki Hopkins, wife, mama, and entrepreneur. Staying home with my daughters Annecy and Zoë and working on my business has been a big change from my former work as an engineer here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I love that I can tap into my creative side, collaborate with my business partners (a.k.a. two of my sisters), and share what I love with the world!

I’m happiest when I’m on adventures big or small. Whether it’s sharing coffee with friends, traveling, taking a cooking class, going on a picnic, or bike-riding through the great outdoors – sign me up!

At the end of the day, you can find me with a glass of Domaine De L’Amandine from the Côtes du Rhône region in France and thinking about my next LIFE AS PAPER project. That is, after our girls finally fall asleep!

Keller Wilson

Hi! I’m Keller: mama, lumber wife, sister, and collaborator at LIFE AS PAPER. I’ve moved around quite a bit over the years, but after meeting my husband and getting married we’ve relocated to to Huntsville, Alabama. Following years of infertility, we’ve been blessed with the sweetest baby boy, William. He’s the best thing that’s ever happened to us.

When I’m not working, I’m usually busy with interior design, getting my hands dirty in our garden, and chasing our son and our super-hyper Jack Russell Terrier named Lucy (who is 12 years old but seems to think she’s still a puppy). A full house makes me happy – the more the merrier!

If I could, I’d make it permanently summer – and have all the coffee and all the wine on tap. Since I haven’t figured out how to do that, I’m happy to at least share my love of sunny weather and simple pleasures with others through LIFE AS PAPER.

Caroline Holcomb

Hey there, I’m Caroline! My husband Kalab and I are pet-parents to Mardi, the friendliest terrier-mutt you’ll ever meet. We share a love of sunshine, long walks, and good food (though Mardi has a different definition of what that means).

I graduated from Mississippi State as a computer engineer, then moved to Alabama. I’ve just started my second year working in industry, so between that and working part-time with LIFE AS PAPER things are quite busy for me these days. That’s why, whenever possible, I take some time to sip some coffee and smell the flowers.

Open spaces and colorful places are where I feel freest, so I love working with my sisters to evoke light and color in our products. Plus, being partners helps us stay connected despite living in different areas. Sharing our lives and our creativity is what what we do, and LIFE AS PAPER is one of the ways we do it!
